About INNSBRUCK:



Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (usually shortened to Chamonix) is a resort area near the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy. At the base of Mont Blanc (4,810 m), the highest summit in the Alps it's renowned for its skiing. Year-round, cable cars take visitors up to several nearby peaks with panoramic views, including Aiguille du Midi above town, and Pointe Helbronner, across vast glacier fields on the Italian border. Legendary Chamonix is the motherland of alpinism and one of the best ski and mountaineering resort.

What to see

Aiguille du Midi (3,842 m)



From its height of 3,777 m, the Aiguille du Midi and its laid-out terraces offer a 360° view of all the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. A lift brings you to the summit terrace at 3,842 m, where you will have a clear view of Mont Blanc.

Mer de Glace Glacier



Departing from Chamonix, the famous rack and pinion railway brings you to the Montenvers site at 1913 m. An imposing panorama of the Mer de Glace glacier, the Drus and the Grands Jorasses. Tour to the Ice Cave.

Planpraz - Brévent



From Chamonix, you can take the gondola lift to Plan Praz at 2,000 m, then the cable car to Le Brévent at 2,525 m. Discover the south slope and its great panoramic view of Mont Blanc.

Tramway du Mont Blanc



The Tramway du Mont Blanc offers a classic Chamonix experience, ideal for visitors who simply want to admire the scenery. The tramway departs from Le Fayet or Saint-Gervais and ascends to Bellevue at 1,900 meters.

Brévent-Flégère Ski Area



It is the biggest ski area in Chamonix, with 56 kilometers of ski runs. The two ski areas are linked by a cable car, making it easy to cover more terrain, and with 33 ski slopes.

Museum of Alpinism



Housed in a "Chamonix Palace" built at the beginning of the 20th century, this museum illustrates the history of Chamonix-from the first tourists who admired the "Glacières de Savoye" (Savoy Glaciers) to the installation of cable cars.
